Grades 3 - 7

Junior Ensemble Production

Registration Fee:

February 11th - May 3rd
Rehearsals: Tue & Thurs, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Tech Week: April 27th - April 30th

Performances: May 1st, 2nd & 3rd

Cast members in our Junior Ensemble production will have the opportunity to rehearse and stage a Broadway style musical.  Audition workshops are held prior to the first rehearsal and every student enrolled will have a part in the production.

The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again.  Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it." Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins JR. is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs and breathtaking dance numbers.

Parent Meeting/Audition Workshop:

Tuesday, February 11th & Thursday, February 13th

Parent Meeting:

Parents: We are asking you to join us for a brief information session at the start of each audition workshop.  During this session we will be able to answer any questions you have about the rehearsal/performance process, update you on some changes we are making to the program, and introduce you to our instructors.  The information session shouldn't last more than 15 minutes and will begin promptly at 5:30pm.

We are offering two audition workshops for our production of Mary Poppins Jr. Participants will be able to sign up for ONE of the audition workshops during the registration process. During the Workshop students will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of auditioning

  • Explore tips and tricks to bring their audition to life

  • Rehearse their audition piece with peers

  • Receive feedback from our instructors

  • Audition in a fun, comfortable, low pressure setting

Student will receive an audition packet with monologue and song options prior to the workshops - memorization is optional but encouraged. ALL students will be a part of the production and will have the opportunity to audition for speaking parts and solos - auditions are for placement purposes only!

If you have questions about the audition process, please email Kate Mellitz or Adele Jones at projectsparx@firehouse.org.
