Teen Ensemble Production

Overview
All Shook Up is a new musical comedy built around a number of songs made famous by Elvis Presley. It's NOT a biographical revue. It takes place in 1955, somewhere in middle America, where one girl's dream and a surprise visit from a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger help a small town to discover the magic of romance and the power of rock & roll.

Auditions

Saturday, April 11th  from 9:30am - 12:30pm

Auditions:

Due to Massachusetts and New Hampshire April Vacation Week schedules, auditions are being held 3 weeks prior to the first rehearsal.

All students must be registered prior to auditions and should plan to attend the entire audition time frame. Auditions will take place in a fun and interactive group format. There will be opportunities for learning audition techniques, and receiving and applying personalized feedback. The audition process includes a dance call to assess movement abilities, with potential call-backs and cold readings at the end of the session.

Students are asked to prepare 16-32 bars of a song of their choosing to be sung a cappella and a 1-2 minute monologue. If students are enrolled in the Musical Theatre Fundamentals class, they will be able to use the audition material they prepared during that process. More details will be sent out prior to auditions regarding what students need to prepare.

All students will be a part of the production - auditions are for placement purposes only! The cast list will be announced and emailed to all participants on Sunday, April 3rd.

If you have questions about the audition process, please email Adele Jones at projectsparx@firehouse.org.

Video Audition Information

Video Audition:

In the event you are unable to attend auditions, materials may be submitted online by video. We STRONGLY encourage you to attend our audition as it will give you the opportunity to meet your instructors, your fellow cast members and to get positive feedback about your audition materials. Students who submit video auditions will not have the opportunity to participate in our dance auditions or call backs.

Video Audition Requirements:

  1.  Prepare a memorized monologue of your choosing 1 to 2 minutes in length, OR choose from one of the monologues provided in your audition materials packet (which will be emailed at least two weeks prior to the audition day.)

  2. Prepare a song selection 16 - 32 bars of a song of your choosing.  Song selections should be sung a cappella to ensure we can hear your clearly in your audition video.

How to Submit A Video Audition:

  1. Create a video of your monologue and song, saving the file with your name in the title.

  2. Upload your file to either Google Drive or Dropbox.

  3. Send us a shared link to your video - please don't send video files directly.
